SEND US YOUR WRITING!

Looking for a professional evaluation of your writing? This is your chance!

Send us your nonfiction writing (maximum 3000 words), and we will pair you with an experienced editor/writing teacher, who will read your pages in advance and give you 15 minutes of feedback on your writing at our conference.

How does this work?

First, register for our conference! This opportunity is available only to those who register for our conference.

Second, register here for the EVALUATION event. The cost is $50 per submission. Why are we charging for this? We will be paying the editors/writing teachers a fee to read and evaluate your writing, and to meet you in person to discuss your work.

How does the selection process work? Time slots will run from 10 am to 5 pm on Friday, June 14, 2019, and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

What if I register for a Master Class and my time slot falls at the same time? We will do our very best to schedule your time so it doesn’t conflict with a Master Class you’ve registered for, but if we can’t avoid it, we will ask you to step out of your class for your 15-minute time slot.

Do I need to have a finished manuscript? No, you can send us up to 3000 words of your best nonfiction, from a finished manuscript or from a work in progress. All forms of creative nonfiction prose are acceptable.

How will I know if I have an evaluation time slot? We will notify you by email once our deadline has passed.

How should I format this? Double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 pt. Save as a word.docx. In Subject line: your first and last name, Writing Evaluation Submission.

OK, so when’s the deadline? Send your writing sample to  by MAY 7, 2019 (deadline extended).

Anything else? This is an opportunity to get focused, professional feedback on your writing. We hope you’ll find it both stimulating and encouraging!

STEPS: Register for conference. Register for Writing Evaluation here. Send maximum 3000 words to: New deadline: May 7, 2019.
